Pymesque Observations
I noticed a publication at Books a Million called "The Gentlewoman." I also found my copies of the 1954 "Illustrated London News", which had ads pleading for funds for the relief of distressed gentlewomen. Surely Catherine Oliphant would be off to help them!
Watching "Last Tango in Halifax," a soap set in Britain that Pym might have written [Yes, I intended the rhyme]. If one looks excellent women are indeed everywhere. More soon on their appearances in British sitcoms, and old TV shows of hte 60s and 70s. Only in the case of us Yanks, the likes of Laura Petrie make coffee, not tea. Cheerio!
